So the real question is this. If it were free would you use one? Is it the ridiculous price tag that has a nasty taste in your mouth or does it not work?

Like I said; it seems like a sales gimmick but I wanted input from those that have put them through their own tests.
If it was free, I would definitely use one. Or at least try it out.

I don't see how it could hurt.

Saw a demo years ago by Tommy Martin at Bass Pro in Shreveport. The units were called sonic something and retailed for around $900. I'm sure it was just before feeding time, not certain, but he lowered the speaker into the water and turned it on, every fish that I could see, and I mean every fish, redfish, catfish, stripers, sunfish, blackbass, turned toward that speaker. A few fish, one red and a couple of blacks eased over to the speaker. Fairly impressive I guess, but at that time, not worth $900

He didn't buy it and you have no idea if the thing is even on. KVD doesn't need a Hydrowave to catch fish I promise you but he can make money just having one on his boat from sponsors. I'd even run a Nitro if someone would give me one. I took my Hydrowave off after 6 months and I ain't putting it back on.

Here are my thoughts on the Hydrowave and/or any other contraption we have hanging off our boats these days.

If it boosts your confidence and makes you think you catch more fish every time you go than it is worth it.

I absolutely agree that KVD doesn't need it ... but he hawked it on TV like it made a big difference. Would KVD lie for money?

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

You need to pair it up with the Lake Systems Color C Lector.

Don't forget the Flying Lure too. Pairs up nicely with the Popeil's Pocket Fisherman. I have all of them sitting on a shelf in my boat storage unit. eeks

I haven't noticed much difference with the Hydrowave. It does tend to draw baitfish around the boat so that's not a bad thing. Every once and while I notice catching fish at the boat when I have it on.

But, the odd thing is that if I have fish schooling around me a turn it on it doesn't keep them near the boat. It's almost as if it scares them away. hmmm

I turned it on once and it scared the schooling fish away.... come to think of it, it had the same results as when I tried throwing an umbrella rig.

No I don't think he would lie but he might make insinuations and that ain't necessary lying. " I did not have sex with that woman Monica Lewinsky." Remember, Hydrowave is owned and sold through TH Marine who is huge in the fishing industry. I can only report my findings with a Hydrowave because I have one. It should have been named the FISH WHISPERER, lol.

I for sure get the skepticism, but for what it's worth all the Elites I've asked about it either swear it works (in different ways, in different situations) -- that's most of them -- or at least say it can't hurt. Those guys do not put gimmicks on their boats, and just about all of them have them.

I remember one convo in particular with Ken Cook after he'd retired from competition. He was a former fish biologist and skeptic of all things in fishing til they proved themselves -- but also a relentless experimenter and "figurer out" of things. He told me he'd for sure seen the Biosonix/Hydrowave have an effect, notably stimulating fish in what previously were "dead" areas.

My bet is the Hydrowave takes a bunch of experimentation, like anything else, to get the most out of it -- just like a depthfinder. I don't own a Hydrowave...but want one....

Not taking any kinda sides here, just thought you'd be interested....
