Well we have had a pretty good winter so far. I have seen one of the lakes I fish on, have a cove completely froze over. I�m guess there will be a big shad die off. Will the bite be better or worse? I�m guessing fish will be hungry with lots of bait dieing off. Will throwing bigger baits be the ticket? I�m guessing most the small shad will die. The lake has some deep spots but I�m not sure how the shad will react this spring. Haven�t seen it this cold here in along time

It really depends on when the shad die and you get there. If you get there right when they start dying and there are fish around, you can load the boat pretty fast. If you wait a week or so to get out there, those fish might not bite too well. But there are a lot of different variables to consider in this situation.

Shouldn't effect em that much. Shad generally die off every cold winter we have. Never know til u go out there...

It really depends on the lake, but it usually happens when the water gets colder than 40 degrees. It could happen colder than 50 degrees too.
