Looking to add 360 on my bow with a helix 12 sonar/gps. Is it a difference maker?

Came on my boat. I'd like to sell mine just because it has little use for me. There is a time and place(following grass edge, channel edge) just not enough for me to justify having it. I'm more of finding a spot, waypoint, fish the waypoint

I rode with someone that added one. He seemed to like it but IMO I saw way to much clutter to easily pick fish out. Couldn't fish and stare at it anyway so did me no good at that time being shallow. I'm sure it has advantages and may not have been tweaked yet being new, but overall I was not impressed. The mount on TM seemed like an odd design, bounces like crazy in up position when cruising, wondered how long it will last like that.

I have the transom mount and use both SI and 360 while scouting. One graph has SI and one has 360. The 360 is not as detailed as the SI but once you learn to set it up and read it the usefulness increases. Now I find I just set the SI on record and review the recording on the home PC then make waypoints for next time out and use the 360 when approaching and fishing the waypoint. I don't do a bunch of shallow water fishing so I use mine more than I use my side imaging. When everyone is beating the bank I'm off shore a bit looking for where the fish would move under pressure. Pretty much any anomaly offshore.

It's handy knowing exactly what direction to cast to hit the brushpile/rockpile you came to fish. It's also good at seeing fish and baitfish ahead of the boat or lack of baitfish in an area. They're just tools when combined they tend to cut down on my searching time and increase my fishing time.

Did you use the 360 Navigation setting to see your waypoints on the 360 view?

I'm on the fence about the 360 as well. If I already had HB units it would be a done deal. Having just upgraded my TM I have little extra cash to spend. I'm also looking at placing a side scan ducer up front. That's only $350.

I will probably wait until ICAST in July and see if anything new comes out.
