I dont know what the Air Force gave me, but on day 1 of boot camp they lined us up and had a bunch of guys with the air gun immunization guns. Had us walk down the line and each of them gave us a shot in the arm. I still have 3 raised bumps in a triangle shape on my arm from that. 23 years ago now. I cant recall having the flu since then, so it mustve worked. In the Army, they used to take a rusty nail, dip it in a bucket of vaccine and jab you in the neck Hardcore

Team wolfs I had to perform. It took a minute to get it all in my mouth and another five to swallow it all.

If I had a dollar for every time I heard a marine whining about something, I could buy about 106 bitcoin. And some jewels from Craigslist.

Had one flu shot, got the flu, never had another, or gotten the flu again One more time. You cannot get the flu from a flu shot it is a dead virus. You may get a localized reaction to,the preservatives which can easily be treated with Advil etc. Every epidemiologists world wide are prompting people particularly those over 65 and those under 6. This is particularly is critical if one has underlying medical conditions. Its fine if one dont care about their own health but at least do it for those that may expose to the virus. Rant over.

I'm about as big a advocate for vaccines as they come, but I normally don't get the flu shot. On even the best years they are usually only about 60% effective. I've gotten the shot about a dozen times. 100% of those times I've felt like [censored] for 2-3 days after. It's true thousands of people die annually from the flu, but virtually all of those are very young, very old, or have some other major medical issue. I'd encourage everyone to get it, but personally... I'll take my chances. This is pretty much where Im at. Only flu shot I got was when my sister in law required it and other vaccines before meeting my niece when she was born. I cant remember ever getting the flu and I dont see the need to get one. This might change in the future.

I got a flu shot once, and became very ill right after.
I asked John, my ER doctor buddy, mid 50s, very experienced great doctor, all about it.
He said, "Joe, clearly you got all the flu-like symptoms, bad throat, fever, coughs, congestion and so on, but you didn't actually get the flu. The flu-shot doesn't really give you the flu. Your symptoms just felt like it."
Then he went on a bit more to describe the flu.
After listening to him, and I do respect him very much as a doctor, I thought to myself, "What's the point of getting a shot? It still feels and ACTS just like the flu!"
...bottom line, we all decide for ourselves. I cannot imagine working somewhere where it's forced.

Seems to me the rise in flu cases is parallel to rise in flu shots.
I got the shot once in '82 and I had to take off work for 3-4 days and was as sick as I can ever remember, even to this day. Have not had one since.
If I get sick, I just get sick.

You don't get the flu by getting the flu shot. The shot protects against certain strains, but not all strains, of the flu. Even if you do wind up getting a strain of the flu that the shot does not protect against, the effects of that flu will still be lessened by having had the shot.

I evidently don't get the flu by NOT getting the flu shot either. Until that time in '82, I never got the flu either. Social butterflies are most prone. I aint one.

If you carry a state nursing license the flu shot is mandatory.
