Congrats on the record, J-Moe. That's a stout looking Crappie, nice bright colors too.

Hey Heath419 I'll be at Yegua tomorrow walking towards Newmands bottom from Irwin bridge. I saw the creek today and it looked good, just a little murky but fairly clear. Hopefully we can catch a few whites, but I think next week will be best after the good rain we are expected to get Sunday and Monday. Good luck out there

Well it was slow today, only 2 whites and two largemouth bass. Both whites were male, they hit a white grub/shad with a curly tail on a 1/8 oz white jig head.
I saw and talked with about 5 other guys fishing and they did not catch anything.
I sure hope we get some good rain the next two days so it will allow the whites to truly start running up the creek.

Plenty of Crappie and Whites caught today on main lake. Was able to see birds work first time this yr so far as I was leaving the lake.

The weather in Austin calls for the Giddings area to get 1-2 inches of rain Monday. I hope it is not too much to flood the creeks again. But that and the coming warmer weather may be what it takes to kick start this thing.
My trees in my yard already have new leaves on them. So we are close. all we need now is for the blue bonnets to bloom. Mother Nature... so unpredictable.
Shut up and fish!

Caught quite a few small males in Birch creek park area yesterday, they're staged and ready for the rain.

PENDING new lake record Crappie caught today (not myself) but witnessed it being caught. 2.8lb I was at the Marina today. I saw a picture of the new pending lake record. The new record is now 2.9 lbs. The lake record has been broken 3 times this year.
