Headed to lake texoma this weekend with the wife for a getaway before our baby arrives in February. I don't have any experience on the lake. I hear some of the marinas are always good. Just looking for some pointers to point me in the right direction on such a big lake. Water temp? Hoping to catch my first smallie also.

I always liked the Tishomingo National Wildlife Refuge area but that is usually later in the Spring

I've been trying to figure out how you get in there Doug. The Washita river takes you up that way but according to my Navionics there's no entry way into the area, not by boat anyway.

I'm pretty sure Texoma will be a bad idea right now

I think they should drain that place anyway.

I wouldn't be out there in a destroyer this weekend. If you just have to go I'd launch at Harbor Light and stay in there. Platter Flats might not be too bad either.

Ya if the winds are real bad I plan on putting in at one of the marinas and fishing the marinas that are out of the wind.

Highport is a protected ramp regardless of weather. Other marinas to fish depending on where you are staying would be Lighthouse or Mill Creek however the ramp at Mill Creek is not protected from a North or East wind. Eisenhower State Park/Marina are protected with fishable water regardless of weather too.
