Very foggy when I left Garland to join Robert at Whitney. fog didn't clear until I got about 15 miles from Hillsboro. Lots of deer every time I drive through Lofers Bend park and this time saw a bobcat. Clear sky, low wind, water temp 48. Tried South of the island first and picked up a few nice whites on the bottom in 30fow. We both were using a small slab on bottom with a fly above and dead sticking or barely moving. The bite was very light and you need ninja reflexes to hook up. Got twice as many bites as fish. Fly was getting as many as the slab. I tried a new method that seemed to work at times. Drop to the bottom, two reels up then release and thumb back to the bottom in 2 INCH increments. Decided to head North past the bridge and did ok fishing bottom in 30fow. Moved around the corner across from Old Fork Park and marked a lot of fish suspended at 30fow in the river channel. Here we caught some nice stripes, whites, a catfish and a crappie, some on the slab some on the fly. The biggest numbers of whites were at McCown Valley on the bottom in 30fow, East of the river channel. 75 on the counter all released. Great day with a great friend.
