If you don't like taking off at the same launch point, find a circuit that allows trailering and caters to your needs/wants. Don't try to over-regulate others who don't have a problem with it. I'm a grown man, I can make my own decisions regarding weather and to run or not run.

This right here. No truer statement spoke. At some point we need to take responsibility for our own actions and use common sense.

Mr. Seale I personally do not like trailering events and do believe that grown men should be responsible for their decisions. Now when looking at a tournament that is not BASS or FLW where they are running 21' plus boats the tournament director needs to take into account that not all participants have these rides. Some are fishing 17' or 18' boats and that is all they can afford it does not make them a worse fisherman than the next guy but it puts them at a disadvantage and perhaps in a dangerous situation. Some lakes have take offs where the wind don't effect that much some are very dangerous for winds above 8-10 mph. It all depends on the lake. I run a 21' boat so this doesn't bother me but years ago I was that guy in an 18' boat and know what those guys go through in decision making. Some make wise decisions some don't but as for me if I had to choose between winning a tournament or all the participants returning safe. I would choose the latter. The tournament director has a huge responsibility that should be applauded, I for one would not want this responsibility. Some will say that the smaller boats shouldn't fish. If they don't fish then it equals to smaller payouts. I big turnout is good for all whether you trailer or not.

May be a true statement and I don't disagree but in today's world there is no accountability (just blame) and there is no common sense (I am going to do it because I want to). Doesn't matter if it was a bad idea or not. Now I am not saying 100% of the people think this way, before anyone takes it wrong. When things happen though there are entities out there that think they need to protect people from themselves and sometimes they are right like it or not. How many times have we seen guys in these big high powered bass boats (any boat for that matter) with not a clue how to operate them? Guess what these same guys are fishing tournaments. The combination of accidents with the lack of responsibility causes many problems for the people who show common sense and accountability.

I think the issue here is we all have a choice on whether to fish or not. If you choose to enter and you know all you have is an 18 foot boat, then you should plan for that. Why is it the TDs responsibility? If the wind is supposed to blow then you need to plan for that in your prefishing. Is it a hindrance? Maybe. Maybe not. I just dont think its right to put on the TD. We are all responsible for our own decisions. At the end of the day we all have the choice to enter or not.

Can't believe we need a TD to help keep us from endangering ourselves.

How do we survive the rest of the month?

it great to say everybody is responsible for their own decisions but if your boat has a bad turn of events an someone that is not family gets hurt badly or gets killed the remaining folks of the family will come after the deepest pockets.

Mr. Seale I do not know which lakes you fish so wind may not be that big a deal where your tournaments leave from. Lets look at Rayburn at Umphrey, when you leave the stage area and run 200 yards if you have a 10-15 mph north or west wind you are looking at 3-4 footers at a minimum. Now Toledo where you HAVE to run boat lanes especially now with the lake 5' low if you leave Cypress Bend any wind from the North, South, or West over 10 is going to be HELL even in a 21'+ foot boat. What I was trying to say was every event and weather needs to be taken into consideration per the lake. You are 100% right about choices and decisions, they are on the boat's, but what I was saying if you don't trailer and they have 10-15 mph forecasted you will have a limited field. If they could forecast a few days ahead that trailering would be allowed it would equal a larger turnout which would equal larger payouts.
