I am going to get back into fishing tournaments again and just wanted to get some feedback.
What do you go for first, kicker or limit?

More obvious heavily pressured areas first.

With me it depends on the lake and the time of year I am fishing the tournament I make the decision based on how my prefishing goes. I have done the get 5 early then move out and go for a head or vise versus.

Limit first.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways with a fishing rod in one hand, 10# LMB in the other, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and yelling "Wow! What a Ride!

Is it a tournament where an average 5 might win, or do you know you need couple kickers to place in the money at minimal.

If you're fishing the entire trail and concerned about AOY points, then 5 first. If not I go for the gusto and try for nothing but kickers.

All depends on you, the lake, and conditions. And are you fishing for points or trying to win since your not anywhere close to making the championship cut.

Go BIG or GO HOME --- usually goes home without a check.
go for 5 and you probably will be right up there on the leaderboard holding your breath.
