Looking at getting a new rod to replace some older BPS 7' MH Bionic Blades. I'm currently trying to decide between a St. Croix Mojo Bass (7' 1" MH/F) or a 13 Black Omen 2 (7' 1" or 7' 3").

Anyone tried the rods from 13?

The Omens were not what I expected. To me there wasn't a lot of feel and the tip action was not very sensitive. Their Envy series was their best rod and I don't think they make that particular model anymore.

The MOJO MH actions and heavy actions ,7'1"and 7'4",are good rods for worming and bottom bumping jigs. I have four of them. My favorites rod now is the Cashion John Crew series. I like them a lot.

Before I'm through, I'll probably try them all!

Good Luck

Had a few of the original Mojo's and they were heavy. Have 3 Black Omens and love them. REEL seats are the best and I just prefer full cork grips. GO to Cabelas and ck both.

I had 5 different Omen Greens which are the saltwater version of the blacks. I think the only difference was the stainless guides. Sold them and upgraded to the Muse Blacks. While the Muse lineup is lighter and more sensitive I miss the cork handles.

I did some more research and I think I'm going to try a Dobyns Fury 734C this time around.

The Dobyns Fury series are great rods. I use the FR 704C for Texas Rigs and love it.. The 13 fishing fate black are nice rods as well. I have the 7'1" M/F and it's great.
