I was told once anything double the speed limit, or over 100, is a trip straight to jail. That’s a very common misconception and is not true. You cannot be arrested for speeding in Texas no matter what your speed. Correct, but you can be arrested for reckless driving. Yes, but speed alone does not justify reckless driving. My point was simply that many people think speeding above a certain limit will get you arrested. I’ve heard for decades that if you double the speed limit it’s reckless driving and you go to jail and other variations of that. That is incorrect. If the DA will take it it's a legit arrest. Then it's up to the jury.......
