I had yesterday off. It was kind of cold and dreary, but I hadn't fished for a couple of weeks and the weather wasn't going to get any better for the next few days so I went to a pond inn a local housing addition with my 5 wt.

For the first 20 minutes I didn't get a bite, but then I moved to a shallow water area and picked up a couple of fish. I then moved about 20 yards down the bank to place that had a trough about 4 feet deep with the bottom on either side being about a foot deep. I caught several fish there. Moving down the rest of the bank I caught a couple more.

Coming back to my truck I caught the biggest bass of the day at 13" and 1.65 lbs.

All told I caught 14 bass between 10 and 13". Not a bad day when I wasn't really expecting to catch anything.
