Nice fish. Are the fish in the deeper water yet? Were you fishing brush piles, points, creeks? I will be there next week and I'm trying to understand the pattern that is occurring and especially if the fish have moved closer to the dam or are still in brush.

Still on piles. I tried piles from 12' to 15' without much success didn't try anything deeper than 20'. The water is stained from the rains so darker color jigs definitely got more bites.

8up I was out yesterday. The answer to your question is no they arent on the deep water pattern yet. Water temp is 50-52. I caught several scattered here and there on brush piles and points 18-22 feet deep. I fished 28-32 and didnt get bit at all. I imagine the deep water bite is still a couple weeks out with the continued colder temps

Went out again today on LOP. Dont expect to find them on the deep water pattern yet. They arent on that pattern. I caught 14 on brush piles 20 feet. The good news for me was all the fish were high quality. No dinks. Ditch pickles were on the prowl also. Minnows > Jigs today

I went to Pines last night to catch some gizzard shad for a catfishing trip. The gizzards hang with the crappie and they were both holding in 20 fow. I don't care if it was 20' or 40' deep, they were suspended at 20'. I caught plenty of shad and also caught and released over a dozen 10+ inch crappie in my net.

My wife told me that someone broke the LOP black crappie lake record with a 2.87 lb fish, but I haven't seen the pic from facebook yet.
