Kinda like paying $10+ a burger?

I'm not sure what you are trying to say, you would have to try really hard to get a 10 dollar burger at my place.

What place is that? Burger under $10 is almost unheard of these days.

Jucy's Hamburger here is about $6 or so....big, juicy and ranked Best in Texas. Cooked to order. Locally owned and operated.

Bubba 33 (corporate) has Monday night burgers for $5.95.....3 toppings and fries.

I can keep going....

Local if they have what I need or can order it, if not unreasonably more. We are lucky here two places, one lumberyard hardware store, in my little town and one True Value Haredware 10 miles away, that usually are within a few cents of the big box chains.

I like both of those hardware stores (our True Value just switched to ACE)...something breaks...take it back and walk out with a replacement (for free) right then. You don't have to chat with a CSR at Amazon for an hour and wait for shipping time.

Show me on this doll where the bad Amazon touched you.

Do you stop repairs for 2 days to wait on Amazon in the landscaping world??

I'm betting the company that made the device you are using to post is a huge corporation. Same with the vehicletter brand you drive, the food you eat, the clothes you wear and probably the bank that financed your house. All corporations.

So the general manager of a Lowe's for example that lives in the town, shops in the town, had kids in the school district, supports local causes thru his stores marketing budget etc doesn't matter?

Anything spent locally is better than sending your money to China, Mexico or even Amazon. Local sales tax goes a long way to help your community grow.

We have an Ace in Aledo. I have to go to weatherford for a lowes. It depends on what and how fast I need something. If it's I need a certain socket right now to finish something I will go pay too much at Ace. If it's a big purchase or I'm buying a bunch of something or it's not time sensitive I'm heading to Lowe's. Now of its my zero turns for example I use a dealer cause of the service, but I'm not buying weed eater line at the dealer.

You know Lowe's pays local sales tax right. As do all chains in their respective town.

I have a two home depots within 3 miles of me. I have 2 grocery stores within 2 miles and 2 walmarts within 5 miles. The only thing that could make life any easier for me would be an Academy off I20 and 161. I would never need to leave GP to buy anything.

WAWI, That's what I said....local options are better than online.

The "local sales tax" argument always cracks me up. I'm not paying extra just so I can pay extra.

And the amount of local sales tax is insignificant. If you save 5% buying online, you would be better off AND the local economy would be better off if you donated just 1/2 the savings to the local Economic Development entity (EDC). You would get a better price and the EDC would get more than if you bought locally and paid the tax.
