I see some newer boats with spacers between the troling motor mount and the fiberglass. Where can I buy something like this? Seem to be about 3/8” thick or so and some type of high density plastic.

Academy has the Motor Guide trolling motor mounts. They are like what you are talking about.

I used some 1/4" neoprene blocks to mount mine because they won't crack when you tighten down on the screws like plastic and they won't vibrate loose.

Find a used belt off a round baler. Cut to fit. Works perfect

Yup those things work great, just cut off what’s below the fiberglass and add lock nuts and washer

I bought a 12"X 24"X 3/4" sheet of UHMW (cutting board plastic) from Amazon and made a template from the base of my new Motor Guide. I used a jigsaw to cut it, and an air sander to round off the sharp edges.I needed the additional height to clear a raised portion on the bow and this spacer allowed the motor to sit flat.

another cheap alternative is a a plastic washer from a hardware store. ace hardware has them in varying thicknesses.

I use horse trailer matting from tractor supply. Cheap, works perfect. Little bit of shock absorbption too.

The problem with that stuff is that it is almost NEVER UV-stabilized. You need to get true "synthetic marine board" (leadking brand name "star board) if you want it to hold up on a boat. Star board and other similar sheet products are more durable than "plain" UHMW.

The stuff not being UV stabilized is really no big concern to me considering its mounted under the motor. Thanks for the input though. I'll keep an eye on it and hopefully get my $50 worth out of it.
