Decided to round up Xmas trees and make me a few crappie holes for year round when freezer gets low. What’s a good depth to look for? I caught some a week ago in 40’ off a community hole and same spot in summer they’re usually 12’-18’ deep in same spot. I’d like to make me my own secret spots. Maybe 2 to 3 locations.

Find a creek channel or river channel and scatter them between 12-25 feet... Our best are on a slope
Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach
