Seems you never hear anyone talk of it anymore. How's the lake fishing lately? Anyone been recently?

My bud has a place out in Box Canyon and only fishes the Rio portion of the lake. He either sucks or the fishing is real slow, because 1 day he only caught 1 fish. The next day he caught 3 dinks and it was pretty slow on the action.

I was down there for a few days during Thanksgiving. Did pretty good both days I fished. Weather permitting I'll be hauling the boat down next week too.

Place is dead for the most part. I heard of a couple decent fish caught last week. I think its about to be worse than it was when it was bad !

Sure wish it would fill back up full of water and hydrilla. I miss fishing down there.

Fish are probably biting, Amistad locals are not about to come on the internet and spill the beans. They are still pissed at the Elites coming down there.

There's a lot of water, hydrilla, and fish in there. It's only 23 feet low which is better than most of the immediate past. Go fish it!

And the lake is far enough away with minimal amenities that it gets surprisingly little traffic considering the size of it. Thankfully I'm forced to visit my in-laws once a months or so and it gives me an excuse to haul the boat down and fish.

minimal amenities? The town is 9 miles away, and has a chic-fil-a and a starbucks lol.

I was there Thanksgiving eve, and couldnt resist to put in at BBrush and fish for a couple hours before dark. Throwing a smaller jerkbait, and had 8 fish in 30 minutes. Mostly dinks, but beats the heck out of not catching anything. Oh, and I was never out of sight of the ramp. The boat had been giving me some lip lately, so I stayed within t-motor distance.

Had one about 3.5lbs swim under my bait after I paused it, but she turned. Yes, paltry sizes for the Ammy we all know, but a limit of 3's will win a few tourneys out there as of late.

I actually heard this bout the whole country too!! Sucks that 112 guys ruin the fishing and economy growth for few years huh.

No worries Rayburn will be a Dead Sea soon enough along with Toledo since its not number 1 anymore
