I have two. One works OK, the gears are a little clunky. The other one, the drag never worked correctly out of the box. They serve as back ups to the back ups.

Avoid them! They turn to junk very quick.Stay with Shimano,Daiwa,or Lews. fishYou basically get what you pay for.You buy something cheap and in return you get cheap performance also.

If you read the reviews on them you will NOT buy one. They're cheap for a reason. I've been buying the Johnny Morris reels from BPS and really like them. ALL reel companies make a cheap reel for beginners so just because it says Shimano, Lew's, Diawa, Garcia, etc. doesn't make it a good reel.

Right, had a couple of buddies that have them and trying to tell me how great they are. But had my reservations on them. I have seen mixed reviews so thought I would ask on her. Thanks for the opinions.

I bought a Centron 3000 spinning reel on a Black Friday sale for $17.

It feels like a $30 reel.

Not bad, but not great. I probably won't buy another. I'd rather get an Okuna from Dick's.

I bought a Centron and it's still working and good for the really low price point. Nothing special but it gets the job done.

I also tried the speed demon casting reel and it was unusable out of the box. The reel would lock mid cast about 5% of the time then it started grinding hard. I had to return it after an hour of use.

I guess I am in the minority. I have 4 of them - 2 Demons & 2 Assassins. Doing some research prior to my first purchase, I cleaned all of the assembly gunk out of them & greased/oiled them properly. They have been flawless. I can bomb a 130 Plopper on the Assassin & never thumb the spool. They are just a little over a year old now so I can't vouch for long term durability. But they did get hammered since I've had them. At $60, I've already got my moneys worth out of them.

In my opinion they are garbage. My buddy was fishing out of the back of my boat and using his KK reel for the third time on the water. It started grinding and locked up on him. They are also too big. I would go crazy fishing with one all day.
