Finally got the opportunity to get out a couple of days and soak a Bobby Garland jig. Water temperature was 54 degrees with a light south wind.

Started out checking a couple of spots that have been productive in the past. Ran over the 1st spot and decided that I should spend a little time there. It is one of my favorite spots on the lake.

Had good results at this spot and called it a day.

On day 2, I decided to scan a couple of other spots. As I eased over this spot, I knew that I would stay here if they would bite. Good structure near a boat stall near deep water.

This spot was loaded and didn't disappoint as I netted several nice fish with 3 exceeding the 2# mark.

Very productive couple of days on the water with great weather and a solid bite. Looking forward to colder temperatures, and it appears my request will be granted over the holidays. Obviously excited to get back on the water after Christmas and feeling the "thump" again.

Happy Holidays to all.....

I tested out using a loop knot on the jig for a little more action. I am using braid with a 8# fluorocarbon leader. The water is very clear, so I am trying several different things to entice a bite.

Stayed at South Shore resort a few weeks ago. All I could do is stare at the lake, never fished there. That may have to change if I get up there again! Nice bunch of fish!

Another Lowrance shot of crappie stacked up by bridge column.

Then I hear my son hook up with a 6# bass on a ned rig. He just couldn't help himself.

Good times.....

Nice report!

Also a good striper lake.
My buddy Chad goes there every year looking for big Stripers.
They were using minnows and would also catch (close to) 2 lb crappie out in open water.
Here's his 38 from a few weeks back.

Haven't tried the stripers.....yet. That is a toad.

Few photos from today.

And yes.... it yielded a nice limit.
