At the very least I would expect fuel system problems, unless all the fluids were drained. Still, a saltwater boat thats been sitting for 8 years raises all kinds of red flags.

How far offshore can you take this freakin thing? At least as far as you took your 18' boat!

I'm thinkin' a man of your means could make Cuba..... Kidding, kidding 32' boat sitting on the trailer for 8 years? that's a lot of weight. not only will there be engine issues, but I'd get a surveyor to inspect those stringers....

i got it. I drove to Florida I took 2 trailer tires I got there at 4 am bought the boat drove to baton rouge, the tires on the trailer were holding air, I got 2 flats on the highway. in baton rouge I changed one more tire, took off. in lafeyette I lost a whole tire and rim < I was driving with a flat and the extra strain caused the front tire to bust the studs on the hub. So the tire rolled away. upon further inspection that old rusty spare had wallered out the holes in the rim and thats what caused it to bust off. So I put my last spare on and drove real slow 12 miles to kinder LA where I bought 5 studs from napa auto parts and 4 new trailer tires for $500. after I left there I drove 65 the whole way. the whole ordeal took 3 days and now the boat is safe at an undisclosed location. maybe it will float... the motors have 212 hours. the boat was used maybe 4 or 5 times and put away. I didn't get a survey but I do have the manuals and all the paper work for the brand new generator, AC, Upgraded hydrolic steering, I got maps for the old lowrance, I got alot of good stuff! the trailer is garbage but I made it fly 1200 miles and I think my honest opinion on the boat is its gonna be like brand new Im gonna cruise in freakin style lite liner and uncle zeek yall gonna have to come deckhand for me! I even got the automatic anchor rope puller and Im gonna throw in 3-400 feet of rope in there since I aint gotta pull it I might just use the anchor one of these days on the midnight lump......

Hope it works out for you. Not sure anymore where to get a good replacement trailer built. If the trailer isnt rusting out and just needs new axles, etc, you should take it to McGill propeller and welding to get it repaired and roadworthy.
Gonna need more than 400 feet of anchor rode, but shouldnt be a problem with a windlass.

Re: anchoring @ the Lump.....
Capt. Eddie told me that pulling anchor @ the lump in 400' is one of the most dangerous things he does. if you wanna anchor in 400, better have 12-1500' ready, depending on current. (another 1/3 rule) also look into a 12-16" float
Coastline Trailers in Seadrift, Tx. will build you whatever you want, in aluminum.
looks like a pretty nice rig, hope it all works out. best of luck.

I been on a spot on the lump that is less than 200 ft deep i hear tell theres sunken boats down there and you can snag one with a cheap anchor... there is lots of current on a calm day you can see waves over the lump its rough. At night i have to avoid the whole area cause you will be going along and all the sudden bam bam bam your in choppy waves.
