Depends on your batteries. Not all batteries are made for the same amperage
Agm and wet cell batteries can vary in amp requirements

I have AGM batteries and utilize the MK-345pc battery charger from Minn Kota. I used this same charger on my Flooded batteries as well.

The higher the amps the faster the charge time.....

shoot me a PM if you would like a quote on a specific model of charger.

The Minn Kota PC chargers allow for you to select from AGM, Flooded or Gel battery type so you can be sure you are charging the correct batteries correctly.

How fast do you want to recharge them? I think mine is 10amp and it seems plenty to charge my boat overnight after a full day of fishing and ready to go early in the morning.

I have the Minn Kota and it is the 10 amp in each bank. It works great.

I've had 10s and 15s both have served me well. I wouldn't go below a 10.

So I'm guessing 5 amp per bank is not enough

Not if you drain them extensively and want to fish the next day. 10 amp per battery minimum.
