With my luck there would have been a water or sewer line under that stump when I pulled it out.

You did a Fantastic job. The roots didn't go very deep to support such a big tree.

Tractor really helped with the size of those pieces.

Neighbors will be calling weekly for help with their problem trees, you'll probably have to move....lol.

Thankfully all of our utilities run out the back so that wasn't a concern.

The roots were pretty shallow for the most part, what went under the driveway is still there, but everything that had dirt over it I got out. Don't think it'll be sprouting anything.

I knew I could find some help loading it up so I left alot of it big (probably too big) for two people to carry. Then one of my buddies called and said he had a tractor he needed to go get and this was the perfect excuse to go get it so it worked out really, really nice. I was sore the next day just from maneuvering some of the pieces into the bucket and around in the trailer so it was a life saver.

Really can't believe it's all gone. Curious to see how much the ground sinks in, I've got it kind of mounded up right now with everything I could rake up to fill it in, but there was a whole lot of wood that came out, suspect I'm going to need about a yard of dirt.

Neighbors believe it was around 55 years. I thought about calling up an arborist or someone who can figure the age of a tree but never did.

Think that dump trailer is 14'x5' or 6', and it took 3 loads, not including the stump/roots. I joked that it started growing again once it was all on the ground, it felt like it was never going to end.

House was built in 1954, so 55 or so wasn't too far off. The neighbors that said that were kind of bitter about me cutting it down, the wife made a FB post with a picture of it all on the ground, about spending afternoons under its shade with the family who lived there like 4 families before us blah blah blah. Then everyone dog piled on with the "oh we can't believe they cut it down", "we loved that tree" bs. Fun stuff, guess I ought to go see whats on the neighborhood app, I'm sure its good.

looks like the front of your house faces the west or sw? Yeah great tree, but at some point they all have to go, no one wants that big of a tree falling on their roof, as it was close to death anyway good call on your part taking it down. Plant another, throw a party for it and invite all the butt hurt people, nice job.

Hope you saved some of the wood; Mulberry is great for smoking salmon and chicken.
