Colonoscopy, everyone has them eventually, no big deal. Prep is the worst part.
I had my third one 10 days ago. All went fine, found three polyps which were removed and were biopsied. No problem there.

Friday (eight days after the procedure) about 7:00 pm I felt the urge to go to the bathroom. Thats when the bell rang. When I finished the commode was filled with blood. Five min. later happen again. I knew I was in trouble. We jumped in the car and were at Baylor Carrollton emergency in 10 min..

Fortunately they reacted immediately. Long story short. in two hours I lost a huge amount of blood.
They had me on 4 IVs at one time. They gave me 6 units of blood over the next several hours.
They had to perform an emergency Colonoscopy to stop a major blood leak where one of the polyps was removed.
Fortunately they saved me (sorry Crappie). Another half hour getting there and I would be taking a dirt nap.

My blood pressure dropped to to 62/42 for a while.

Im telling this to caution all of you if you have surgery or other invasive procedures to be careful for a couple of weeks. Dont travel more than an hour from an emergency room. Save your fishing trips for later.

Be especially alert if you take blood thinners like I do.

I was released this afternoon to recoup at home.

Hope to see you soon.

Wow. I guess in the long run you were lucky. I've had at least 3 colonoscopies and they always find polyps. One was the type that "can" be cancerous but it wasn't. Thanks for the heads up on the bottom end. grin

Thanking the good Lord you were in close proximity to a hospital instead traveling somewhere on a long ride.

Guy and I were fishing Saturday talking about how you had dropped off the radar. I told Guy that maybe you were sick with the flu at which time Guy's phone rang and it was Faye. You had us worried for the day my friend. Glad to hear all is well and that they found and resolved the issue.
Rest up, Get strong again.
