Assuming you have one unit at the console and one at the bow, the units will cross-talk when their sonar pulses overlap. The Helix units use 200 kHz all the time for the depth readout if both are SI models.

If you get cross-talk, you can share the bow unit's transducer with the console unit or share the console unit's transducer with the bow unit to prevent it. You just select the unit source for the data in the Ethernet menu.

Yes, just make sure you turn sonar off in the menu of the unit that does not have a transducer connected to it to prevent damage to the unit

It is spikes/streaks on each view.

With 2D sonar, sometimes it affects the depth readout and the 2D bottom recording since it can't calculate the depth accurately getting sonar echoes from another unit.
That can happen on the same boat or different boats near each other.

If you tournament fish, you have see it before take-off if you pay attention.

I see cross-talk from another boat hundreds of feet from me if they have an imaging unit with their transducer pointed my way.

Hit the power button, express menu will drop down with several options and one of them will be to turn sonar off or on. As long as you are networked to the other unit you will still get all the same menus and screens as if the transducer were connected
