I wish they would consider an idle only policy and just blow a horn or something when it's okay to run. It's a small enough lake to hear it go off. Heard they kept all people in launch area today bc of fog. Why not allow people to idle out away from launch area and fish? Nothing too bad will happen if guys will just idle.

Let me get this right. You need to float your boat from the trailer so everyone can hurry to get into the water so that you can then sit around and wait for them to start a tournament with a shotgun start? Silly me for not understanding the logic in that.

Its always better to be safe, stay back then be sorry, especially if your not running a big 20 plus footer with a 250 on the back.

Not only the tourney, all boats are held.

Talk to the right people about it and they will ban them, 100 boats = 4 flights one boat at a time, staggered weigh ins. it's amazing how quick the take offs can be.

While shot gun isn't great idea it would help if people who want to go left line up on left and people who want to go right line up on right. Every time every where one of these deals happens some clown has to cut right across everyone.

But that's how they learned to drive their cars. Don't prepare and expect everyone to yield to you.

I was there during that fiasco. They held the boats in for far too long. I agree with the idle idea. I feel like its far more unsafe to hold everyone in and then just let them all go at once. It's frustrating just sitting and swapping spots with guys because you are getting blown around or catching the waves pushing you from other boats at idle.

It's really not squaw's or the boaters fault, just part of the process and "safety" rules. That said, if you don't like the starts, I would recommend staying back and letting nature take its course for the dummies, yes, including myself, that are willing to crush or wreck their boats for the potential of a little bit of money.

All that said, big thanks to Pete Hernandez for putting on such a charitable tournament that day. At the very least in the midst of all the chaos, at least some good was done.

Senseless still since they have a natural stagger start at the gate on the way in

Don't let you in the gate till ittw fishing time and the problem is solved. Launch and go from that point.
