Does anybody on the forum focus on big cats on rod n reel on Conroe? I have had good luck figuring them out over the years for eaters and big ones on jugs but have been unsuccessful as far as focusing on the larger ones on rod n reel. Mainly have been trying cut Gizzard shad around Rip Rap and drifting over successful jug areas. Any tips or recommendations would be greatly appreciated as I need to try something different than the current methods I am experimenting with.

I'm still learning, but the 1st thing that comes to mind is presentation.
Do you drift with a Santee Cooper Rig and a cigar float?

I have been using a Carolina rig, but looking at the Santee Cooper rig it looks pretty deadly for getting the bait off the bottom. Will switch that up and give it a try in the next few days and see what happens. Thanks for bringing that to my attention, and I might switch up my bait and see what happens.
