Twas the night before Christmas
And next to the house,
Trolling batteries were charging
Unknown to the spouse.

The boat was hooked up
To the truck with care,
And the chains were crossed
To the hitch as a pair.

As I laid my head down
With a smile on my face,
I was dreamlining of warm weather
At my special place.

I had checked on the weather
At weather underground,
And I was so excited
At what I had found.

The forecast was clear
And the weather was warmer,
Much better than earlier
That I had seen former.

My wife looked over
And saw my face,
And then she decided
To put me in my place.

With a stern scolding voice
Which raised such a fright,
She quickly destroyed
My dreams for the night.
