It depends on what is required to perform the rebuild.
If they are just reconditioning the cylinders, then that might be considered on the high side. Does it need a sleeve? new pistons?

That's extremely high to me... Period. Even with 6 new sleeves and pistons. Better off finding a new motor for that... some of these rebuild guys are ridiculous. Gotta find you a good one.

Rebuild includes: Boring and Honing of all the cylinders, new pistons, piston rings, wrist pins, wrist pin bearings, rod bearings, rod bolts, upper/lower and center main seals and bearings for the crankshaft, new spark plugs, thermostats, install new water impeller, change the gear oil. Tank and run in break-in mode for 4 hours.

The basic rebuild price including new pistons is fine. That price for one injector I believe to be in error. I would ask them to send all 6 injectors to be cleaned and flowed and see the results before installing a new injector.4 hours in a tank and a lake test, that should find any irregularities or hiccups...I would expect no surprises first time out from rebuild. I see they suspect detonation as the cause. Make sure you drain your gas tank and fill with new fuel if they don't.
That said, TOR has a very good reputation for doing quality work and standing behind it. When it comes to an outboard, piece of mind is worth quite a bit.

I don`t think this is high for a turn key job with warranty. The only thing I see is that the reeds need to be changed. eBay item number:282058570659

Not sure where you live but Jay Smith (Jay Smith Racing Engines JSRE) can rebuild it stock much cheaper than that. He lives just north of Jasper TX.
