Fishing Report at Rowlett Creek

Not a bite, and i seemed most people werent catching anything either that day and night. tried a jig with different flukes and grubs but no luck, with and without bobber. The one guy who was catching was generally just leting his lure fall (some soft plastic) and bouncing along the bottom across the bottom of the creek. I guess I thought that crappie fish upward, and generally stick to cover and structure, but he seemed to be largely just catching them bouncing along the bottom. Everyone looked skunked. Seems a little counterinteuitive from what ive heard from others so would like to hear you guys have to say. I tried casting to stumps and wood piles but no luck.

Any advice? REally looking forward to crappie season this year in creeks.

I catch most of my fish vertical jigging structure. But Saturday I caught some pitching to a dropoff and letting it fall slowly, caught one almost every cast. My guess is they were pinning the bait in that pocket against the ledge and point. Was actually more fun than vertical jigging imo. From what I've seen in the creeks I go to they are still scattered and not stuck to the structure consistently yet.
