Just got my second box in, wondering who else has a subscription and what everyone thinks? Wife is putting me on a limit of tackle each month around $30 bucks or so and I can't decide if I want to keep the box coming in and see how I do with its tackle or just go to academy as I need.

I had it for a while.

You end up with a bunch of the same thing from different companies. It seems like every box has a deep-diving crank and a package of craws. They might be bigger, or smaller, or a different color, or from a different company, but that's what you'll get. Also you end up with a bunch of bait hooks, so if you don't use live bait you won't have any use for them.

Some of the stuff is ok and some is cheap chinese garbage imported by off-brand companies.

I got tired of the bass box and went with the inshore box for a while also. The inshore box was about 1/2 the same stuff as the bass box - stuff that obviously wasn't made for salt. Some of it even had pictures on the packages of bass or crappie, or even walleye made by companies in Wisconsin and Indiana.

I liked Lucky Tackle Box better. You usually get better stuff and it wasn't sample packs with 3 baits - they send full packs. I let them both expire though because after a while I just didn't want more of the same stuff.

I did 3 months of both, Canceled MTB after the 3 month and continued with LTB, Lucky Tackle Box is much better than MTB, same price, a lot better quality lures and bigger packs of baits, not the small sample packs like with MTB. With LTB every month they have a YouTube Channel where they go over each bait and talk to pros and have give aways. Its pretty nice. I would go with the BASS XL if you go with LTB. I liked getting the boxes... cause it gives you stuff you wouldn't normally buy if you were to purchase on your own. kind of makes you try new baits and techniques you might not have tried otherwise.
