It's been awhile and you need it back. Do you go get it? Continue to wait? Go buy another as it's not a big deal? Throw dog poop over the fence into his yard? Neighbor is a good dude. I'm sure it slipped his mind don't want a new neighbor just my item back.

Yeah I think Jay is right. Just say "hey bud, remember that ****** I loaned you?" By then he will likely interrupt you and say, "Oh WAWI (I assume thats how you are addressed) I forgot about that man, slipped my mind, let me grab that for you right now. I am so sorry"

Go ask to borrow it back and return it to him when youre done. Good idea, maybe I'll wait till he isn't home and ask his wife if I can borrow it then keep it. But then she will think I'm a mooch.
