anyone got this? Jesus H Christ if I could just find the mo fo that gave me this I would beat them to death with one arm. Sore muscles, coughing, sore throat, neck hurts 101.6 temp, massive headache. Man its tough to be a human.

Had something awful last week. I think it might have been a flu/stomach bug combo. I had 24 hours of the whirling dervishes. Then another 24 hours of horrific body pain and fever. For a time I thought I needed to feel better before I could just die.

The usual websites say the shot this year would only be 10% effective as opposed to an histoical rate of 50-60%. They guessed wrong. So I would say hang on, and wash your hands.

I've got the flu too. Throwing up, fever, feel like I've been beat with a baseball bat all over.

I have it right now and I feel the same way but I got it from my daughter, I guess she brought it home from school, the wife just said she has a headache and her legs are sore so I guess she is next

If you got on it quick enough you might not think it's helping but imagine it being worse than it is now and lasting about 3 days longer than what it will after taking the Tamiflu. I've done it both ways and speaking from experience.
The flu sucks and there is no other way to say it. They make some pedialite in flavors that you freeze like cool pops.
Send someone to get you a couple boxes of those and throw down some fresh citrus. That's all I got but sincere condolences. Wear a mask and nitrile gloves when you're out in the common areas to try not to infect everyone else in the house.

edit- The right kind of drugs can help a bunch with those headaches but dehydration can cause them to be worse. Tylenol 3 or even better is 10mg hydrocodone. Just don't take too much Tylenol/acetaminophen. Plain old advil or tylenol can knock down the fever some, but you need to try and stay hydrated and with electrolytes.

The only time I remember getting the flu was the one and only time I got a flu shot.
The only preventative shot I have gotten was for shingles and that was cause my boss got it and thought he was having a heart attack.

Spent the day in the ER today with type A....tami flu and fluids....not helping yet

Last time I got the flu I didn't realize I had the Flu till I went to the Dr. So since then I have been getting the flu shot and haven't had it since...(knock on wood) for everyone that has it for a fast recovery

I carry hand sanitizer around all the time. My hospital, employees are forced to take three days PTO if we come down with it.

Everyone in the hospital was required to take the shot or show just cause why not. The ones that didn't take it have to wear a mask all the time in the hospital. Nonetheless the FLU is rampant and about a third of the staff have it to some extent.

Yup the strain mutated in Australia and wound up here. This year's vaccination as some folks mentioned already is only about 10% effective in preventing flu.

However I still got it at my doctor's recommendation. She said even if it's not an exact match, and you should catch flu, it will certainly help reduce severity and length of the illness.

We DID take the flu shot and pneumonia shot this year and I hope it is the right one for the flu that is prevalent this year. Just reading this thread made my ears stop up.

I'm with you grandpa, they had a massive epidemic in San Antonio in 1977, I got the shot and within 2 hours I was in the infirmary, sickest day of my life. Never took another one and never had the flu since, knock on wood. Hope you guys feel better, I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

I'm doing OK. No flu ever.

We don't do flu shots, and I didn't have my kids vaccinated. Been looking for a Pox Party. Hit me up if you know about one.
