Yesterday at Fish & Chips I had the 4 beeps go off & then continuous alarm. This happened right before I pulled up to a place to fish. Has soon as I let off the pedal the alarm stopped. Took off several other times with no problem, then it did it again. Headed back to boat ramp at end of day and no alarm & no problems. I know 4 beeps has to do with the oil. 2 years ago the float on the reserve oil tank on the motor stopped working. That day when the alarm went off it shut me down to safe mode & had to idle back to ramp. From what I understand (which isn't much) that float is magnetic and will sink to the bottom of reserve tank if it goes bad setting off the alarm & shutting down to safe mode. This wasn't the case yesterday, since it did fine most of the day. Anyone ever have one do this before?

4 beeps every 2 minuets can be low oil or water in the fuel. The continuous alarm can be engine overheat or compressor overheat.

Oil is full. The two or three times it did it was within about 15 seconds after on plane. The longest run I made at the end of day didn't do it so rule out overheat maybe? I did put some gas in so maybe bad gas.

I got to thinking it started doing this the first time out after I bought a new battery. Read on a boat repair forum that corroded or loose wires could trigger alarms. Checked wires & had two that were loose enough to pull out of wire connector. Got those fixed but haven't taken to lake yet so hopefully that fixed it.

How are you liking that Optimax? I just got one. got a 2006 200 on my Champ. After running a nodded 175 Black Max for 30 years I can't believe how quiet and was starting the Optimax is. Another plus is the MPGs. Not that I get too concerned with MPGs on a boat but they are a plus. I burn about half the fuel on a much heavier boat.
