you chase a different species. As I was at the café getting a breakfast taco this morning my phone rings and it's my neighbor (retired Game Warden). First words out of my mouth were "is my dog at your house again". He says no, you want to go to "the creek". I said give me 20 mins to get home. We hop in his truck and head out. We launched the boat about 10:45 and by 10:50 he is putting the first solid trout in the boat. Our first drift yielded 5 solid fish. We made a short move and got into some smaller fish with a couple more keepers mixed in. We noticed a young man in a kayak coming towards us and as he got closer we both recognized him. His dad is a retired DPS Trooper who had worked a bad wreck my mom was involved in about 30 years ago. We chatted for a while and he said that he had only caught a couple small ones. He headed back towards the ramp and we continued fishing adding one more to the box. We decided to head back to our first spot where we saw Travis again and told him to put his kayak on the bank and hop in the boat with us. We finished the day at 2:30 1 fish shy of 3 limits and sent Travis back home with a mess of good trout. It was a good day at "the creek". Pic is of our 9 fish after loading up Travis' cooler with 5.
