Finally had a chance to get on the water. It's been a few months since I was on the lake. So I wasn't going to let the cold snap keep me away. I think the air temp was 27 when I left the house. The water temps were 49-50. Water was is decent shape. I think the rains earlier in the week may have made it a little murky.
I had a limit by noon. Most of the early bites were on deeper running crankbait; Bomber Fat Free Shad / 5XD type in 8'-10' deep. Caught 1 on an A-Rig and rest on a jerkbait all in similar areas. Needed wind blowing in on the banks with deep water near by. I ended up with 14 fish between 2 1/2 - 7#. My best 5 went 24#. I had two other in the 5-6# range pull off a jerkbait. One bite I had a about a 3# spot on my jerkbait and a 5+ LM was trying to grab the bait. SHE got the front hook and pull the split ring off.
