Hello guys,

My name is Zach Everly, I am a high school senior who just started kayaking two years ago, and fishing at the end of this season.

I am doing a 6 month engineering project where I am designing a mechanism to pull up the anchor and wrap up the rope for you fast and efficiently. If you could please fill out this short 5 question survey it would really help our team with designing the product. Thanks a lot!

Can't wait to use this forum for learning more about kayak fishing!

Completed the survey.

Retrieving an anchor, especially in deep water is one of the more potentially dangerous aspects of kayak fishing.

There are several lakes with deep timber and rock where the anchor will get snagged half way into the deep retrieval. Slowing down, jiggling the anchor, and sometimes kayak re-positioning are needed to safely bring in the anchor.
