I did a search any notmuch info showed up, and I dont recall seeing very many posts about it.
Can anyone share any info on Lake Limestone ? Best place to launch from ? How is navigating the lake ? Looking at it in Navionics, looks like a lot of flooded timber ??
Has anybody fished it recently ? Good, bad or ???
Thanks Dave

Ramps on either side of the 3371 bridge are good although the south ramp, County Park #2, might be damaged so stay to the center of it (we have a private ramp so I havent put in there in years, just heard it might be damaged).
You can easily south of the 3371 bridge to the dam, just stay center of the lake, shorelines have timber. Idle only areas are pretty visible, just slow down when you enter the areas you see standing timber.
Fished about 4 weeks ago, good numbers but no weight. It has been coming back the last few years. My parents have had a house there since I was little and now live on the lake so I spent most of my childhood there. Feel Free to PM me if you'd like more info.

By the way, the lake is very low. When I was at my parents over Thanksgiving the end of their dock was barely touching water.

Can't imagine being able to launch at its current level. Use to fish it a bunch, but low water levels put a stop to that.

On navionics it looked like their was a lot of docks on the lake ??? Im hoping so, love to flip docks, not alot in the Waco area. Thank you for the info. It appears we better hold off trying Limestone till the water levels come back up.

We had 24 pounds in the top six tournament we were fishing. I had never seen the lake until that friday before the tournament.

When my son and I were fishing a few weeks ago the ends of the docks were maybe in a foot of water, it is even lower now. The sand in the area makes the banks run out very gradually, you have to get 20-30 yards off the banks just to be in 2-3 foot of water in most areas. Stick to the tree lines in the middle of the lake and around the power lines. The west bank 200 yards south of the powerlines is likely the only area you will find with water under docks right now. My son was catching 3#'s off the shore over Thanksgiving in the cove if you follow the power lines west into that cove then idle as far back as you can get until you hit the little bridge. We didnt venture into that area in the boat a few weeks ago so I cant tell you if the water level will let you in there or not.-

Be careful! I went with someone last year. First time for both of us there. Lots of the timber was just under surface, very dangerous to navigate, but it was not low at that time. Even in some of the deeper water I felt like a ping pong ball due to wind and hidden stumps. Guy I went with said he will never go back on windy day again with his boat. I have never pushed a boat off stumps as much as I did that day! It may have been partially driver error and wind, but I still call Limestone "stump hump lake" and would recommend being very careful if your not familiar with it. Be safe. Compared to our area there is so many stumps you can pitch till your cross-eyed! If the marina restaurant is open its a great burger!
