Try the "weatherunderground.com" you can also get a app for your phone. if you like to fish by the barometer you can check when it will rise and fall. if you are going to a different lake you can search by the nearest town. it also has a ten day forecast and so far they have been dead on.

All good info (except The Weather Channel, weather.com, you're wasting your time with that site and they don't focus on Texas). Wunderground is a good site, ours, even WeatherBug isn't too bad. Our website has hourly graphs of wind, RH, temp, all that too if you prefer that info for your time on the water (remember, wind speeds are 33 foot winds usually over land...expect slightly higher speeds and gustiness over water due to the lack of friction like land, vegetation, buildings, etc cause).

Bottom line is paying attention to forecasts, but even moreso watches, warnings, and advisories, and those come from US (NWS Fort Worth), not anywhere else that's a private firm.

Ynot, thanks for the nice comments and good fishing to all, regardless of what app, site, or what not you prefer to use for your weather. Happy Holidays everyone!

The Weather Channel, really? C'mon man, they are in Atlanta, GA and their forecasts are TERRIBLE for here, not to mention, they profit from you, we don't and they could give a rats about Texas.

BTW....
I'm in Atlanta, and their predictions for HERE aren't any better! (Pathetic!)

Anytime. Never hesitate to ask me or PM me if you're not sure about something occurring or coming up. I try to check TFF at least 3 or 4 times a week.

Thank you, sir! I'm a senior meteorologist there, so take pride in what we do. We do all the warnings, watches, etc for N-Central and parts of Central TX.

Need any info, just holler!

Awesome! Will do!
I really enjoy reading the forecast discussions. It's cool to see the thoughts that go into the forecasts.

Yes sir, Mr. Cob, anytime I can help. Yeah, I'm biased about the NWS, but been in the weather business in 5 offices around this country since 93', and back home here since 02'. We're not in it for the dinero. I try to pretend I know a lil something about the skies around here, but I understand there's a lot of avenues out there to get your forecast.

I've worked with all our media/TV folks and emergency managers around here for a long time now, so I treat y'all with the same importance as I treat them. I'm not in it for the money, I'm in it to make sure folks don't get caught off guard and my love for it. I'm getting within 5 years of retirement, but would hope I know a thing or two still in this aging brain and body.

Happy fishing down in Hotlanta. Worked in Jackson, MS not too far from ya 99'-02'. Good folks in the southeast. I have some other nuggets about TWC (Weather Channel), but I'll leave that unsaid for the time being.

Ya see "/05" at the end of an aviation, short-term, or long-term discussion, that's me my friend. I don't like putting my name like some of our younger guns do (we have some good young mets here now), but you'll know that's me.

Start nights tonight (mid-8 am) through Christmas morning, so I'll be doing "short-term". I don't write as eloquent as some of the others, but I know my shinola on the science for the most part. cheers roflmao

Still need help with it?? If so, PM me. When on that mobile.weather.gov site on a browser (safari, chrome, whatnot), at the bottom of your smart phone should be a box with an arrow attached pointing up...that should get you to the "Set to homescreen" option, then our emblem will pop up on your phone like any other app.

Works like an app, acts like an app, but we can't call it an app. peep cheers
