Robert and I thought Wednesday looked good for a day at the lake and it sure was. Weather was good, wind was not a problem at all and the birds were working. We were targeting sandbass with slabs but caught a few stripes as well. What we found was that the sandbass are schooling up on the flats in 25fow. Birds were working and would lead you to a school but if you thumped they would stay with you. We sat on one spot for well over an hour and caught fish pretty steady. As you can see on the graph pic they were somewhat scattered but biggest majority of fish came right off the bottom. Best area for us was 1/4 mile south of the bridge. 206 on the clicker, 2 lmb, 2 keeper stripes, 12 smaller stripes and the rest were sandbass. All released to fight again. Thanks Rob for another memorable trip.

Two for Rob and one for me.

Very nice Steve. We need to make a trip to Whitney. I keep hearing great things about that lake.

saw ya'll out there, was pretty sure it was you when I saw the thumping stick. We were only out for a few hours but had a great day too. Cleaned 30 whites and three nice stripes, released nearly that many legal but small whites. we got on them pretty good in 23ft off Mcowen after you went south, all on slabs with a feather jig above, got several doubles.

They were feeding yeaterday miday with the cloud cover south of the island. Mostly stripers. Put the heavy gear up and broke out the fly rod. Ended up with about 20.
