I don't think there are boat runs. You launch and go out to the dam, turn right along dam and down to the end. You run up the left side of the lake until you get near the point and shut down and idle across to the discharge cove. The right side of the lake is pretty heavily timbered. I think much of the discharge cove is timbered. I'm going later this week. I'll report back and you should know I've been on the lake only a few times.

When I went there first I was told to ask a local if you could follow them to the discharge, which is what I did. It is a LONG way to the discharge so you don't want to idle it.

We were going to go to MC but ended up going to Murvaul but maybe this will help.

Lake is really low right now. My dad was there this weekend and said he saw stumps he's never seen in his whole life, right in the middle of the lake! There was no wind and some were just inches above water. Not trying to worry you but be CAREFUL!

There are no boat runs on this lake. Haven't been out there in a couple weeks but the lake is several feet low and not even sure if the ramps are usable. Call the park office and check before coming. To get to the hot water discharge, leave the ramp area and run parallel to the dam to the southeast shoreline. Run the shoreline, go under the railroad bridge and stay on the southeast shoreline. Just stay out of the middle of the lake. There is a huge hump just past the rr bridge...it's probably out of the water by now so watch for it. When you get to where you need to cross the lake to get to the hot water side I suggest you just idle across. Even if you have a trail marked I would still idle. The last outing I hit a stump hard in a place I've been running for years. The hot water area is loaded with stumps. As someone else suggested, try to find someone that will let you follow them. Send me a PM if I can help. Tight lines!

Fished Martin Creek today. The ramps are still usable for now. The park ranger stopped to visit with me right after I launched my boat and was telling me about the problem they are having with the buzzards roosting on trucks in the parking lot. When I got back to the ramp later in the day this is what I found. Buzzard poop all over my truck and trailer.

This is where I saw others running and have used with no issues for several years. That being said if it is 3' LOW I haven't been out there when its like that so who knows... There are def trees all over the place if you get out of the areas marked so take your time. Didn't know about the buzzards!! YUCK!! Better wash that off quick their poop is quite toxic and will most likely eat the paint!

Be careful running the second picture up to the discharge! Normally it's fine. I've ran it a 1000 times before but grazed a stump about half way up a couple weeks ago!

So I finally got out and ran Martin Creek today. The maps given are pretty good. Water is 3 feet low so the stumps are very obvious. As previously stated by others, run under the RR bridge (on the left side) and then watch out for the hump which is just barely visible above the water level to the left. I followed an experienced MC fisherman in and he got not quite up to the point and then shut it down and idled across to the cut. We idled by timber and had no problems. Just don't run it fast. Once in the discharge cove you will see a clearing through the timber (slightly on the right) and once you get through it you can run almost up to the discharge. You will see a well-developed timber line on the right of the boat. It is pretty clear on the other side except in the coves on that side. Now having said all this, I caught most all my fish today closer to the RR bridge area. And, I caught too many dinks.
