I had a Therm-a-Rest Camp Seat which I liked a lot but the other day on the way back from Proctor I lost it. Searching online, I tried to find where I could buy another one and it appears that Therma-a-rest doesn't make it any more. Found no credible source to buy one. So I started searching for a substitute. I have a therm-a-rest Seat Pad but it is only 1.5 inches thick (not the same as the Camp Seat). Was looking for something just a little thicker for my kayak with the hard back seat and no seat pad. Iike the self inflating foam core. Chatted with ACK and they didn't have what I wanted. After considerable time searching I came across this one on Amazon. My wife has Amazon Prime. Put the order in Monday and it arrived this morning (Wed) via USPS. This is the REDCAMP Self Inflating Camping Pillow and Seat Cushion Set. Think this is going to solve the seat pad problem.

Bottom side view still inflating

Top side inflated.

Will be trying it out tomorrow.

I hope that pad works for you. I’m in a Hobie PA14 and have been searching for the right seat cushion. Have tried standard pilllows, closed cell foam, open cell foam, foam donuts, lumbar cushions, gel pillows, gel and foam pillows, and nothing will prevent my back from hurting after a long day of peddling. I guess I’m getting old.

I bought a Therm_A-Rest trail seat pad at a thrift store for $.50 and used it for years to supplement the lame seat cushion in my Pescador 12. It worked fine. The self-inflating feature, plus being able to pressurize it by blowing into the valve made it work really well. I started to look at their other seat cushions, but didn't find anything that spoke to me. I ended up ordering a Gone Fishing seat. I kept the Therm-A-Rest for my spare kayak.
I can deflate the seat pad and roll it up into a roll about the size of a paper towel roll, and it weighs about an ounce! No wonder the hikers love them. Hope yours works for you. TexasJim

Correct. The fabric doesn't stretch tight enough, so it slumps between the side frame. The seat pad is just the right height to make it comfortable.

I still have my camp seat, 14 years and still going strong. Can't believe I haven't poked a hole in it. These things are great. Sure like being able to lower my center of gravity real quick when I need to. roflmao

Now I like this one . I used to use one like like this from Hobie, but it was like $50.
