I have 4 Lew’s baitcaster reels they are the Tournament Tssi1 or something like that, it’s not here with me, they cost $199.00 each at Cabelas a couple years ago, they are well taken care of, but now all 4 of them seem like the brake is on after about 20 yards out no matter how lose I set them , has anyone else had this problem, , I have about 12 chronarcs and several abu Garcia’s all upper models and none of them do this .. any suggestions would be appreciated,, I’ve took them apart and cleaned/lubed numerous times and nothing seems to help

I would reach out to Lew's customer service. I had a Super Duty that was having an issue with the thumb bar engaging. I sent it in and they fixed and sent it back. It only cost me the $6 to ship it to them.

When you talk / email them they give you an authorization number.

Or clean them and add some oil to the bearings.

Oops. Sorry, just read you cleaned them several times.

Did it start after you cleaned them? You could have put a washer in the wrong place maybe. Maybe the break isn't in there right. It's just odd that all 4 are doing it at the same time. I have 4 of those reels and love them. I took all the shields off the bearings and really cleaned them up and they cast even farther

I agree about Shimano, I have around 20 of them mostly chronarchs , the white ones and a few calcutta 200 D ,, so telling me about Shimano is telling me something I already know,, and I believe I mentioned that above,, I got them for a good price and wanted to try them , always heard Lew’s casted extremely well
And they didn’t all start at the same time but over the last year they all four are doing it , and when I say took apart and cleaned, I only took the side plate off, oiled and grazed the shaft and bearings and put it right back together ,, if I use them to flip with their fine, but the cast with not they nearly stop them selves after about 15 to 20 yards,, it’s very puzzling to me and anyone that I have showed them to,, sorry about the long post ..

I bought one of the tournament Lews and it’s always casted funny.. I know Lews discontinued one of the Tournament series reels last year or the year before and had them on sale and came out with a new version.. I have nothing but Lews in all different models and have had no other problems..
