Is it just me, or was/is it the worst ever. There used to be some fantastic deals around Thanksgiving. Today, there are 10 featured 'fishing' items, and six of the ten are rod racks. One reel, no rods, no lures.

Its not just you, the sale this year seemed pretty much worthless. For the most part I didnt see any store with a must have deal (Best Buy, Walmart, Academy, Etc.), just nothing stood out this year. Of course, there was still a record number for sales on Black Friday this year, so I guess it didnt really matter and was a good move by the stores.

There were a few deals out there but nothing that made me change my mind from going fishing. Really, there was nothing that even made me want to buy so I just got my dad a rain suit at academy online and some ring free at a whopping 5% off. Oh, and I had to get a Christmas tree, wow those things are expensive

bought the boys some $10 fleece jackets and got $25 off a remote control monster truck, as for fishing stuff, Bass Pro has declined and really isn't a "bass fishing store" any longer

They seem a lot more interested in pimping out their store brand product than discounting national brands (which are marked up 15% over most other retailers).

That's one reason I now shop Tacklewarehouse or Cabelas or Academy or something else. I bought 40 6th sense divine swim jigs for $4 each, vs. $5 or $6 each. Saved a TON of money on them. YES, they work that well, too. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

It's not BPS but St. Croix has their Legend Tournament Bass rods 30% off all this week
