Made the trek to Oklahoma's Blue River for the season opener today. Caught 25-30 total in six hours of fishing, kept my six-fish limit of decent sized rainbows. Caught my stringer on spinning tackle, using Panther Martin spinner and a Mepps spinner. After cleaning and icing fish, went back with fly rod and caught/released several trout on a scud under a float and on a nymph fished without a float. Most other anglers also had fish and most were using spinning tackle. Well worth the drive from FloMo. Forgot my phone so no pics. Really liking this whole retirement scene - the fishing opportunities have increased exponentially!

Is the area where you fished divided into zones with different restrictions like LMF/Beavers Bend or is it just typical statewide laws that apply?

There is an area north of where I fished that is catch and release only until March 15 and I think also limits types of lures. You can get the specifics on the Oklahoma Dept. of Wildlife website.

Overall the state has about 7 miles of river that make up the Blue River Hunting & Fishing Area. On most of the river, the only restrictions are a six fish limit, and you can have no more than 12 fish in your possession. The catch & release (or delayed harvest) section is about 1.5 miles north of Highway 7 and you have to walk in or you can ride a bike. In the catch and release area only flies or artificial lures with barbless hooks may be used.

Fished the C&R area Friday, Saturday, and Monday. Fished the Blue in the past but never the C&R till this year. Here is Monday's video... Saw lots of trout but only landed one.

Blue River - OK

Hopefully this helps. Lot of area to fish but you can also have a lot of company if you go during peak times.

Strange days indeed ... it was super slow for another year of my Blue on Black Day. I did the C-n-R, and the waterflow is way low, leaves are mostly gone (winds may add to that problem). It is so low, I can see all the way to the bottom in vast areas of the C-n-R, and although I saw two albinos, there are very few fish compared to the last time I was there. Very few. It makes me wonder where they are, if most of the stocking was in the kill area, or if the stocking numbers are off, or if that invasive otter is multiplying. Seeing fish and not being able to catch is one thing, this is different.
Caught this one on first cast, and not another bite before I had to leave. Good color and power. Looked super slow in the kill area.

I could be completely wrong but I think they only stock the C and R area twice. Once at the start and then again in January.

Went on Wednesday and had some luck just south of 7 on streamers but didnt catch anything down from Hughs crossing for the 45 minuets I was there. That river is very low and slow right now just like you said.

I went ahead and posted in detail on Texas Fly Caster website - with audio report. Also wondering a lot about what the real deal is at BendBow.
