Caught a good one on the only dock I fished the other day and decided I'd spend a lot more time doing it today on a different part of the lake. I normally detest docks, hate having dogs bark at me, don't care for folks eyeballing my every move until I'm out of sight, and dislike getting hung up. I know there are big bass under them, I know if I hook a good one, I'm going to go through Chinese fire drill having to duck when I get pulled under one, hoping I don't bump my head, hoping I don't get wrapped, rod in one hand and trying to back paddle with the other trying to horse it out. Usually end up with bow of kayak sticking through ladder of dock or hitting a dock piling solid and lots of noise being made. Always felt like I was looking up a lady's skirt when I fish them.
Eye level view of my day.
A new first... homeowner brought her in close so I could take a picture...
Never got bit under any of the many docks I fished today. Did catch 5 small ones, all on spinner bait.
First of the day.
Last of the day. Three more in between, all about the same size.
A great day to be on the water.
A good rule of angling philosphy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.
