Went to start my motor on the muffs yesterday and it took a little longer to start than normal. Probably 10 seconds or so. Usually it just fires right up with the turn of the key. I wouldn't think that the colder weather should affect it being that it is fuel injected. I will add that the gas is probably 6-8 months old, however, it is non ethanol. it runs fine when it starts, just took quite a while longer than normal. Will start right back up after first started. After sitting overnight it took awhile again when I tried this morning. Am I worrying about nothing?

If you have room in your fuel tank, add some fresh gas to see if it makes a difference.

I only have a little less than 1/4 tank right now. I will add a couple gallons fresh gas tomorrow.

The injectors are known to clog up. I have had two of those motors. Takes a little time to clean, but I cleaned them myself. They run/startup great when clean.

Adding fresh gas will only give you diluted bad gas. Additives will not fix bad fuel. You know what needs to be done.

Yep after setting for 8 months you better add something to clean the junk out of the fuel system. I really figured he was changing the fuel. Pretty obvious. Hope he has already checked under the cowling for mud dobbers. Going to need to change all fuel filters, oil, oil filter and sparkplugs.

The old fuel will be pulled out before adding new fuel. I know that adding new gas on old will just make more bad gas. it hasn't sat for 8 months, the fuel is about 8 months old. It doesn't use much fuel and I don't run around the lake all day so that is why a tank lasts a long time

Fuel checked out fine. injector filters were a little dirty. Fuel system was cleaned, 100 hr service performed and went ahead and had water pump impeller replaced.

I had a pair of 2006 F150 that got that way. There in a fuel filter element on the motor itself. Check that first if you have not already done that. see if this opens if so i think your part is number 4. its easy to change.

http://www.boats.net/parts/search/Yamaha/Outboard/2006%20and%20Later/F115LA/FUEL%201/parts.html

Then there are two more associated with the fuel pump that are a little harder to change and could well be it. It is in the fuel pump itself. I think yours is number 4 and 25 on this schematic.

Third is it could be your pump up bulb.

Also stabil will recondition old fuel to a usable state. Go to their website and look at their research.

Yeah....right. Im not doubting you believe it.....but, I AM doubting that it could possibly restore ANYTHING. Prevent? Maybe. Restore? Never in a million years. If it was that a miracle fluid, I'd still have my doubts.

I have never, ever, seen anything repair a rotted fuel line other than a trash can and a new piece of line. As for "fixing"'bad fuel....the only thing to do there is drain it and replace it with fresh.

Man.....shouldn't even say what you're saying in a public forum. Someone's gonna believe it and it's gonna cost them huge repair bills.
