Hello I used to come down to Monticello sever times a winter back in the late 90's and had a blast. Then life got in the way and haven't been back but after hearing about the plant shutting down I'm planning a trip down over Christmas Holidays and wondering were is a good place to stay now days boat friendly?

Back then there was a little store that had killer hamburgers and a few rooms out back to the west of the lake close to a Y in the road is it still there?

Just me and the wife for 3 or 4 days hoping to go down memory lane...LOL

Used to stay there but it has closed, old service station and convenience store with a grill. There used to be a house on the road to the gate that rented a room, but gentleman passed and his wife didn’t want to rent any longer. Camp Shiloh or Reagan’s is pretty much it now. Motels in Mt Vernon or Mt Pleasant. The super 8 in Mt Vernon has a huge, well lit parking lot with a few electrical outlets on light poles in the back. They used to give a fisherman’s discount.

Regans is a dump, I wouldn't stay there if you paid me. Rent a house on Cypress, well worth the money.

that is correct. Don't know the name of it but I saw it a couple weeks ago. Looked pretty nice!
