Going up to texoma this weekend to primarily target smallies. However, id love to spend a half day or day chasing some stripers but have never targeted them before. Is it mainly chasing the birds this time of year? Any specific structure/depth I should be looking at? Figured lure wise a under spin jig head with a swimming fluke/shad type swimbait (5") fished to their depth should do the trick. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Was there the past two days. Chase the birds. Best lure was a slab. Get ahead of the birds whichever direction they are moving. Drop slab straight down to the bottom and burn it back up. Did't get into any big ones but caught a lot of box fish. Good luck.

Any flat, ledge or point mid lake is producing. A 1-2 ounce casting spoon slabbed off the bottom was working for me. If you want to chase the birds you can but I was having better luck with big fish thumping the bottom of the boat and the fish were stacking up underneath.
