Do yall prefer a 704 or 705 cb? for 3/8 oz square bills lookin to pick up a champion on black friday. I have only ever used medium-mod in a quantum but sometimes wish i had a med-hvy-mod. Will probably run 15-20# invisx

i currently use the 765 champion for my SqBills, for my preference i would say the 705 would work better. I like having a little more versatility to throw a 2.5 or a lipless when needed. But normally throw 1.5 size Cranks

I find the 705 to be a little tip stiff for anything under 1/2 oz for a roll cast. Tends to hook my 1.5s or smaller on the cast so Id say 704.

If you can't find em wind em.

I have the 705 glass and also think it's awfully stiff for 3/8oz cranks. Throw 1/2-3/4 very well, but for 3/8 sqr bills I'd get the 704 glass.

I have both.

704 for 1.0 and 1.5's
705 for 2.5's

I fish square bills as one of my primary techniques so I throw those two rods a ton.

704CB Glass for you all day.

I have both too.. and I agree with this 100%. If I had to pick just 1, the 704CB Glass is the one. It's a great top water rod too.

It will be ok but I don't think you will love it. 704 you wouldn't want to put down. 705 will likely make you feel like you are overpowering 3/8 oz baits.

Wow a 765 for square bills? That is a stout rod.

705 glass is really good with 1/2 oz lipless baits, 2.5 size squarebills, etc. It works for 1.5 size baits, but its a little heavy for making super accurate casts with it. I feel it in my elbow after throwing a 1.5 on it for longer periods.

Another vote for the 705 glass I throw all my shallow cranks jerkbaits and chatterbaits on it. That glass rod is more durable too.
