thumb to Dan. He is one class act. He was also very kind to take me and the young man from Belgium last year for a super day on Grapevine. We had a great time. He was very appreciative of your hospitality. Thanks again Dan.

Years ago we pulled a big Sailboat in after his was stuck on Sand Bass point at Grapevine in the dark.
We did this with my old Super-Skeeter and 25hp Evinrude, not a easy go for that size boat.
Since then I've had the favor returned and been pulled in probably 3-4 times by others when I had a dead battery, no gas or dead motor.
Gotta help a fishing brother out and there is good and bad karma, I prefer the good.

I was on Ray Roberts on the way back to Jordan from Lick, lost my gears about half way across, threw trolling motor down and it went out after about 100 yards. Wind was blowing me back to lick. Waved and yelled at 13 boats that went bye. Not one stopped and even asked if I needed help. finally, boat 14 stopped and towed me back in. Wouldn't let me give him any money for his troubles. There were 3 boats anchored about 200 yards away. I could hear them talking, but they couldn't hear me yell, or chose not to. Really makes you question humanity....

My lower unit went out on Rayburn a couple of weeks ago. I was up in Veach Basin and I had launched at Umphrey. It was a Saturday morning and I put my Fortrex 101 on 80% and went for 3-1/2 hours. Along the way, there were some tournament fishermen buzzing by but I didn't want to flag any of them down because I thought I might be able to make it back. However, at the end of my journey the wind was 10-15 in my face and I had lost most of my power. I was still 3 miles from the ramp out in the open water about a mile from Rayburn Park. I tried to flag down some guys driving by but they were probably going to weigh in (around 3:00). I always tow people in when they are in distress on the water, no matter what. I was starting to have a sinking feeling that I might get blown up to Farmers because power would soon be gone. I was contemplating calling my insurance about a tow boat. About that time, I saw a boat coming directly at me from Rayburn Park. This guy was camping there and he saw me in the middle of the lake. At first he thought I was deep fishing but when he saw me try to flag some people down, he launched his boat, came out and towed me to Umphrey. Just in time Karma! I asked if I could buy his gas and he gave the answer we all give "No, just pay it forward with the next guy in trouble".
